Hand-drawn joy. Designed for summer, built for movement.

Associate Designer — Print & Color Direction, Product Design | Baby Girls

This Baby Girls summer collection was built on a foundational belief: that the best childrenswear design doesn't just look good — it supports the way kids actually live. Every silhouette, every print, every color decision in this range was made with a specific user in mind — a baby discovering the world, moving freely, and experiencing summer for the first time.

The print direction was entirely hand-drawn, creating a warmth and playfulness that sets Hanna Andersson apart from competitors relying on licensed or stock artwork. I developed original illustrations across multiple motif families — bold fruit prints, scattered florals, graphic daisies, colorful scatter patterns — each executed across coordinating colorways to build an assortment that feels cohesive while offering variety within the range.

Color was treated as a design tool, not decoration. The seasonal palette balanced high-saturation brights with soft, wearable neutrals, enabling mix-and-match styling within the collection and coordination across the broader baby range. Silhouettes were designed for ease of dressing and unrestricted movement — relaxed rompers, soft-waist shorts, easy-on bodysuits — with construction details like flat seams and snap gussets supporting both comfort and caregiver usability.

Designing for play, with intention.

Design Objective: Create a premium baby rash guard that blends joyful color storytelling with everyday functionality.
As the designer, I developed this style through thoughtful color blocking, soft performance materials, and intuitive construction to support comfort, movement, and sun coverage.
Outcome: A timeless yet playful summer essential that feels elevated, durable, and true to Hanna Andersson’s heritage..

Original illustration at the heart of every print. No stock art. No shortcuts.

Print Motifs Developed

Fruit and botanical · Scattered florals · Graphic daisies · Rainbow and color scatter · Coordinating solid colorways · Multi-scale print variations

For this Hanna Andersson swim collection, I created the artwork by hand, focusing on playful, kid-driven motifs with a sense of joy and summer ease. Each print began as a hand-drawn illustration, using soft texture and organic linework to add warmth and character. The result is a set of premium yet whimsical prints that scale seamlessly across swim silhouettes while staying true to Hanna Andersson’s cheerful, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic.
