Color strategy that sells. Designed from insight up.
Senior Designer — Creative Direction, CMF Strategy, Palette Architecture | Kids Lifestyle Socks
For SS25 Kids Lifestyle Socks, I drove the full creative direction end-to-end — from consumer insight and trend translation through palette building, material callouts, and assortment structure. This wasn't a styling exercise; it was a design strategy built around age-appropriate color behavior and performance-meets-lifestyle consumer expectations.
The work began with a consumer segmentation framework — mapping color psychology and purchasing behavior across Infant, Toddler, and Active Kids to build palettes that serve distinct emotional needs within a single assortment. The result was a three-tier palette architecture: Dopamine Pastels for expressive, trend-led Lifestyle; Nature-Neutral Infants for soft, grounded color; and High-Energy Actives for sport-driven brights with contrast and energy.
Seasonal concept: Radiant Comfort — blending joy with self-expression, and delivering modern, bold color with a confident, trend-aware point of view. Material direction emphasized comfort and texture variety across yarn types, with heather and marled options supporting lifestyle positioning.
CONCEPT & DESIGN
This concept centered on expressive color and tactile comfort, building palettes with clarity and energy. Chunky, hand-knit marls delivered softness for infants, while older-kid designs leaned into bold stripes and sport-forward accents.
Cultural Insight
This consumer values color that is bold yet emotionally balanced—palettes that spark joy while remaining versatile across apparel and footwear. Materials are soft, tactile, and designed to feel good in motion, reinforcing comfort through every touchpoint. Color behavior shifts by age: infants are grounded in calm pastels and warm neutrals for a sense of ease; toddlers embrace friendly brights and expressive graphics that support curiosity and play; and active kids move into high-contrast, sport-driven color with a clear sense of speed, energy, and performance.
