The Hanna Essentials Set is Hanna Andersson's foundational infant and toddler basics range — a design challenge that looks deceptively simple and demands the highest level of craft. When every style is worn daily, washed constantly, and tested by the most rigorous users in the world, there is no room for anything that isn't exactly right.
I approached this collection with the same design rigor you'd apply to performance gear: fit for a specific user, material selected for real-world conditions, and details that earn their place. Every decision — snap placement, neckline ease, rib weight, inseam length — was made to support natural infant movement and ease of dressing. The color story was built for versatility and mix-and-match wearability across the full Homma range.
Print development for this collection was done in-house, with original artwork created to feel warm, considered, and age-appropriate without being predictable. Small-scale tossed motifs — hand-rendered strawberries, illustrated ducks, scattered florals — were developed across colorways to maximize assortment flexibility while maintaining a cohesive seasonal identity.
Quiet design is the hardest kind. No trend to hide behind. Just fit, fabric, and detail.
Hanna Essentials Set
As the Baby & Toddler Designer, I led the design and material direction for this bamboo-based capsule, developing a ribbed bodysuit and coordinating accessories with comfort and sensitivity at the forefront. The collection pairs breathable bamboo rib jersey with cozy wool socks, creating a cohesive, minimal set that feels premium, gentle on skin, and timeless in wear—designed to be lived in, layered, and loved.

In addition to designing the collection, I also created the artwork for the prints, developing each design by hand from concept through final repeat. I translated playful, child-led motifs into balanced, wearable patterns, carefully considering scale, color, and softness to complement the bamboo rib fabrics and silhouettes. The result is a cohesive, premium collection where print, material, and design work together seamlessly.
